Is your tooth badly decayed? Has a large filling caused your tooth to crack? Will you need a dental implant? If so, a dental crown may be a necessary treatment option.
We offer crowns for cosmetic and restorative purposes so that our valued patients can better enjoy their smiles while preserving their oral health.
What is a crown? A dental crown is a tooth-shaped 'cap' that entirely covers a damaged tooth. Besides strengthening a damaged tooth, a crown can be used to improve its appearance, shape, or alignment. A crown can also be placed on top of an implant to provide a tooth-like shape and structure for function. Porcelain or ceramic crowns can be matched to the color of your natural teeth.
On average, dental crowns last between 5 and 15 years. This is dependent upon good oral hygiene, normal wear and tear, and other mouth-related habits (such as ice-chewing, nail biting, or teeth grinding or clenching).
Dr. Argo skillfully and expertly creates each crown in his own on-site dental lab with only special exceptions made to send out work to an alternate lab.
Why Would I Need A Crown?
*To protect a weak tooth from breaking or to hold together parts of a cracked tooth
*To restore an already broken or severely worn down tooth
*To cover and support a tooth with a large filling when there isn’t a lot of tooth remaining
*To hold a dental bridge in place
*To cover misshapen or severely discolored teeth
*To cover a dental implant
